Clinicient Alternatives for PT Clinics
Where Clinicient clinics are going after the WebPT acquisition, compared on price, fit, and migration effort, including the option that needs no migration at all.
Clinicient Insight was acquired by WebPT in January 2022, and many clinics have been reassessing their system of record since. If you want a full replacement, WebPT, Jane, Prompt, SPRY, and Raintree are the main destinations. If Insight still does documentation and billing well enough and your real problem is no-shows, mid-plan drop-off, and lapsed patients, you can add Clinic OS Pro on top instead of running a migration.

Why clinics look for Clinicient alternatives
There are really only two reasons, and they point to very different answers.
Post-acquisition uncertainty
WebPT acquired Clinicient and its Keet subsidiary in January 2022. Consolidation of two large PT platforms means roadmap, support, and pricing questions that did not exist before, and a lot of owners start shopping simply because they want to know where the product is going. That is a legitimate reason to look, but it is worth separating "I need a different EMR" from "I want certainty."
Insight works. It just does not recover revenue
Insight EMR and Billing is a documentation, scheduling, and RCM system. Like every EMR in this category, it was never built to chase a same-day no-show, nudge a patient who is stalling at visit 5 of 12, or work a lapsed list back onto the schedule. An EMR migration is a months-long project, and it will not fix any of those three leaks. If that is your actual problem, add a retention layer instead.
The 7 best Clinicient alternatives
Clinic OS Pro is first because it is the one option that does not require leaving Clinicient.
Full disclosure: Clinic OS Pro is our product. Everything else here is an honest read of the market.
Clinic OS Pro
Retention layer (not an EMR)Clinic OS Pro is not a Clinicient replacement, and that is the point: it runs on top of Insight via secure patient-list import, so there is no data migration, no billing cutover, and no retraining. It automates same-day no-show rescue, plan-of-care completion nudges, and lapsed-patient reactivation, and reports recovered revenue in dollars per flow. Flat $149/mo, month to month. If you are mid-decision on your EMR, this is the one move you can make now that you will not have to undo later.
WebPT
PT EMR + practice managementThe most common destination for Clinicient clinics, since WebPT owns Insight and has the clearest migration story. WebPT is the dominant US outpatient PT platform, deep on rehab-specific compliance and reporting. Pricing is quote-based rather than published. Worth noting it shares the same gap as Insight: strong documentation, no dedicated reactivation or drop-off recovery engine.
Jane
All-in-one EMR + practice managementJane publishes its pricing, which is a relief after quote-only platforms. Balance starts at CAD $54/mo for a single practitioner with capped monthly bookings, Practice is $79/mo and Thrive $99/mo, both with per-practitioner add-ons, and insurance billing is a paid add-on on the higher tiers. Clean interface, strong online booking, popular with cash-based and hybrid clinics. Retention is reminder-based, not a recovery engine.
Prompt
Modern all-in-one PT EMRPrompt has taken a lot of share from legacy PT platforms by leaning hard into automation and workflow design. It is a strong fit if the thing that frustrates you about Insight is the interface and the manual admin work. Quote-based pricing, and implementation is a real project. Like the rest of this list, it treats retention as reminders rather than as a revenue-recovery system.
SPRY
AI-forward rehab EMRSPRY is built around reducing documentation and billing labor with AI, and it is aggressive on winning switchers from legacy platforms. Good option if you are replacing Insight primarily to cut admin cost. Per-provider quote pricing, so model it at your headcount before committing.
Raintree
Enterprise PT/rehab EMR + RCMRaintree is the enterprise end of the market: highly configurable, deep reporting, integrated RCM, and built for multi-location groups. Third-party estimates commonly put it in the $150-$300 per provider per month range, with large groups well above that. Overkill and overpriced for a single-site clinic, genuinely strong at scale.
TheraOffice
PT-specific EMR + billingBuilt by a physical therapist and focused squarely on outpatient PT documentation, scheduling, billing, and reporting. A reasonable like-for-like swap for Insight if you want to stay with a PT-specific vendor rather than move to a general platform. Quote-based pricing.
Common questions
Is Clinicient being discontinued?+
WebPT acquired Clinicient and its Keet subsidiary in January 2022, and Insight EMR and Billing has continued to be sold and supported since. There is no publicly announced end-of-life date. If you need certainty about your specific contract or roadmap, ask WebPT directly rather than relying on third-party commentary, including this page.
What is the best alternative to Clinicient?+
It depends what you are replacing. For a supported migration inside the same corporate family, WebPT is the default. For transparent pricing and simplicity, Jane. For modern automation, Prompt or SPRY. For multi-location scale, Raintree. If Insight still handles documentation and billing acceptably and your real problem is revenue leakage, you do not need an alternative EMR at all, you need a retention layer on top.
How much does Clinicient Insight cost?+
Clinicient does not publish flat pricing, and cost varies by clinic size, modules, and whether you use their billing service. Third-party software directories commonly report figures starting around $200 per user per month, but treat that as an estimate only and get a written quote for your own headcount and module mix.
Do I have to migrate off Clinicient to fix no-shows and drop-off?+
No, and migrating usually will not fix them anyway. No-shows, mid-plan drop-off, and lapsed patients are workflow problems, not documentation problems, so a new EMR inherits the same leaks. Clinic OS Pro layers on top of Insight through a secure patient-list import and runs same-day no-show rescue, plan-of-care completion nudges, and reactivation without touching your documentation or billing.
What is the least disruptive option if we are undecided on our EMR?+
Add the retention layer first and decide on the EMR later. A migration is a multi-month project with training, data mapping, and billing risk, and it is hard to reverse. Clinic OS Pro is month to month at $149 and reads a patient list, so it works the same whether you stay on Insight or move to WebPT, Jane, Prompt, or anything else. Nothing you build in it gets thrown away by a later switch.
Which Clinicient alternative is best for sports and orthopedic clinics?+
For a full EMR, Prompt, SPRY, and Jane are the most common picks in sports and ortho. For the retention layer, Clinic OS Pro is PT-specific: it tracks plan-of-care progress and targets the early drop-off pattern that shows up around visits 5 to 7 in sports and ortho rehab, on top of whichever EMR you land on.
Keep comparing
Want the head-to-head detail, or the full software roundup?
Keep Clinicient. Fix the revenue leaking out of it.
See what no-shows, drop-off, and lapsed patients are costing you, then add the layer that recovers it, on top of the EMR you already run.
